       November Luncheon
               November  17, 2016
                Ramada Inn
Doors open at 10:30am for check-in/social time.
Our meeting will begin at 11:00am.
(Please do not arrive any earlier as the room will
not be ready for seating)
​Luncheon Cost: $16.50.  Contact Geri Marchiafava no later than November 10.  No exceptions.


MENU

Waldorf Salad, Roast Beef with Mushroom Gravy California Blend Vegetables,  Mashed Potatoes Pecan Pie Coffee, Tea and Water
​​Chef salad is offered as an alternative to the menu. Guests should be advised of this option. If the salad is desired, it must be noted on your reservation check. No changes can be made after reservation deadline. 
​NOTE: Salad dressings available:  Italian, Light Italian and Ranch only.

PROGRAM
​Our October program features a lecture by Dr Roger Smith, a local Historian, author of "Women of the American Revolution."    His lecture will include stories and research about women from the 18th
century who dared to fight the existing societal norms in order to stand for their beliefs and rights.
​Dr. Smith's books will be on display and available for purchase following the luncheon.

​OTHER ACTIVITIES
Travel – November 4 – We will travel to Cross Creek State Park, historical home of Marjorie Rawlings (author of "The Yearling).  We will tour the home & grounds at 10:00 (tour cost $3.00).  After our tour we will have  lunch at the Yearling Restaurant and enjoy Old Florida cuisine.  We will leave the Beall's parking lot at Orange Pickers & San Jose Blvd promptly at 8 am.  Cash to driver is $9 per passenger.  Contact Pat Webster who is our host for this trip.
 
RESCHEDULED:
Recipe Exchange – November 9 – Recipe Exchange rescheduled due to the hurricane.
It will be hosted at 11:30am by Linda Peacock at her home. The theme will be “Soups and Stews”. Linda will provide drinks and dessert. Please bring your recipe to share and a container to take home leftovers. Please contact Linda  to confirm you will be attending.
Antiques – November 11 – we will travel to the lovely town of St. Marys, Ga., tol explore the wonderful antique shops on Osborne St. Lunch will be at either Riverside Café or Langs. We will leave from Hobby Lobby’s parking lot promptly at 9:15am. Rider’s share is $9 cash to your driver. Please sign up at the luncheon, indicating if you’re willing to drive, or call Linda Peacock.
Mangia Mamas – November 18 – all of you who enjoy authentic British pub fare, come and join us as we dine in a warm, friendly cottage setting at the Kings Head British Pub at 6460 US1, just north of St. Augustine. We will meet at the street edge of Kohl’s parking lot, leaving promptly at 11:15am. The rider’s fee is $5 cash to your driver. If you’d like to join us, please sign up at the luncheon, call Tamara McKay at  or Mimi Grenville.  Please let us know if you’d like to drive.
​TRAVEL RESCHEDULED FROM DEC 2
Travel – November 30 – we will depart the Beall’s San Jose Blvd parking lot promptly at 8:45am to arrive for shopping and lunch at Brickhouse Grill prior to our 1:30pm tour of the beautiful Christmas décor on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Stetson Mansion in Deland. Be advised there are stairs and standing involved in the 1 ½ to 2 hour tour.
Checks must be made payable to Mandarin Women’s Club in the amount of $26.63 due by mail to Linda Sherrod or bring to the luncheon and give to Linda or to Sharon Weed. Checks must be received by Oct 27 and there will be no refunds for cancellation after this date. Rider’s share is $9 cash to your driver, and please also bring $2 cash for the guide’s tip. This will be collected and  given as a group tip at the end of the tour.
