OTHER ACTIVITIES
ravel – May 5 – We’re touring the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine, built by Henry Flagler as the Alcazar Hotel 1888 and housed the world’s largest indoor swimming pool at that time. Otto Lightner purchased the building to house his collection of collections, including his own collection of 19th century art, porcelain, glass, furniture, and much more. There will be an opportunity at 11am to hear some of the mechanical musical instruments. The pool is now the elegant Alcazar Restaurant, where we will have a delectable lunch at 12 noon. We will leave from Kohl’s parking lot promptly at 9:30am. Rider’s share is $8.50 and includes a share of the $1.50 cost per hour for parking in the lot behind the museum . A $4 discount off the regular price of $10 is available if we have at least 10 participants. Bev Severns will collect $6 cash from each person before entering the museum, which must be paid for as a group.
