PROGRAM Our May 24th Program features Mark Woods, Metro Columnist for the Florida Times Union. Several years ago, Mr. Woods spent a year traveling to many National Parks throughout America. During this time, he learned that his mother was gravely ill and was going to stop his travels. However, his mother, Nancy Woods, encouraged Mark to finish his journey. His presentation will include images of these Parks and most importantly, he’ll speak about how his parents taught him to appreciate the magic and beauty of our country’s National Parks. Mr. Woods’ book, “Lassoing the Sun: a Year in America’s National Parks” won a Gold medal for general non-fiction in the 2016 Florida Book Awards. For those interested, this book will be available for purchase after our luncheon. Be sure to make your reservation for this interesting and touching program! |
