        January 26, 2017

Ramada Inn Doors open at 10:30am for check-in/social time. Our meeting will begin at 11:00am. (Please do not arrive any earlier as the room will not be ready for seating)
​Luncheon Cost $16.50. Contact Geri Marchiava no later than January 19, 2017.  No exceptions. 


MENU
Fresh Fruit Salad Chicken Cordon Bleu with Cream Sauce Squash and Zucchini Oven Roasted Baby Red Potatoes Coconut Cake Coffee, Tea and Water Chef’s Salad is offered as an alternative to the menu. Guests should be advised of this option. If the salad is desired, it must be noted on the reservation check. No changes can be made after reservation deadline.
NOTE: Salad dressings available are Italian, Light Italian, or Ranch only.

Program
Our January program features a guest lecture about the Divine Mercy House. The Divine Mercy House is a Christian maternity home for single women facing unexpected pregnancies. Open to all faiths, this facility helps to coordinate the care of each pregnant woman and her unborn child, while also helping the mother develop a life plan for a successful future. The history of this charity and its affiliation with the DMH Thrift Store will also be discussed. Come learn more about this worthwhile local charity! Ps…Please bring unwanted eyeglasses of any type to the luncheon to be donated to the Lions Club.

               





​OTHER ACTIVITIES
​

Travel – Thursday, January 5 – will board the Skyway to tour Sally Corporation and to visit Candy Apple Café for lunch!!!  We will leave from Hobby Lobby’s parking lot promptly at 9:45am. WEAR YOUR WALKING SHOES! Rider’s fee is $5 cash to your driver, plus a parking fee of $5 per car at the Kings Ave. parking garage at Hendricks and Nira behind the Hilton Garden Inn. Park at the far left of the garage, closest to the Skyway station. We will exit the Skyway Jefferson St. station to walk to Sally at 745 W Forsyth St. Sally’s tour includes seeing how the animatronics and robotics are achieved for theme parks like 6 Flags. They have received many awards from industry associations and from fans. There will be periods of standing and of walking. Our tour is at 11am and after the tour we will take the Skyway to the Hemming Plaza station and walk to Candy Apple Café for lunch. We are limited to 30 participants, so anyone who signed up after the first 30 is on the waiting list. You will be notified where you stand on the list. Antiques – January 13 – will leave from the front edge of Kohl’s parking lot closest to the street, promptly at 9:30am, to visit the Daytona Beach Flea Market. Rider’s share will be $9 cash to your driver. Lunch will be at Caribbean Jack’s. This is a popular trip, so sign up at the luncheon or contact Jan Ford.
Mangia Mamas – January 20 – will be headed to The Bearded Pig, 1224 Kings Ave. in the San Marco area for a noon lunch.We will car pool from the Tree Steak House parking lot promptly at 11:30am.
