February 27, 2020 Ramada Inn Doors open at 10:30am for check-in/social time. Fashion show at 11:00am. Lunch will be served at 11:45am. Our meeting will begin at 12:45pm. (Please do not arrive any earlier as the room will not be ready for seating.) LUNCHEON COST: $17.50. Contact Betty Waldrep at 904-571-6765 for reservations. Checks must be received by February 20th. There will be no exceptions. MENU Chicken Piccata Garlic Mashed Potatoes Sauteed Baby Spinach Pecan Pie Classic Caesar Salad Rolls and Butter Coffee, Tea & Water Chef’s Salad is offered as an alternative to the menu. Guests should be advised of this option. If the salad is desired, it must be noted on the reservation check. No changes can be made after reservation deadline. NOTE: Salad dressings available are Italian, Light Italian, or Ranch only. PROGRAM Our annual fashion show will feature the Petunia Patch “Fashion Express” with Peggy Johnson. Peggy has been on the entrepreneurial end of fashion since the Petunia Patch opened in 1972. With her experience as a national speaker, author, and seminar leader in fashion, you will experience an excellent array of designs from all over the world offering something different for her clients. Ms. Johnson received her fashion training from John Robert Powers of NY. Ms. Johnson closed her shop and launched a mobile version of the Petunia Patch, which is now a traveling showroom plus a private showroom in Ponte Vedra. SPECIAL FUTURE EVENTS: Mission Inn in Howey-in-the-Hills – March 22 - We will travel by bus to Mission Inn where we will enjoy a Champagne Brunch. Visit the extravagant buffet as often as you choose: omelets , caviar, salmon, cheesecake. After our wonderful meal, we’re off to Yalaha to visit an authentic German bakery. The strudel is made fresh, and we’ll all go home with a loaf of home-made bread! Just up the road is the quaint little town of Mt. Dora. Here you can take a stroll to visit the shoppes and boutiques that line the city streets. Stop in for an ice cream or piece of Key Lime Pie! How’s that for a fun day out? Check must be to Sharon Rosenblum by February 20. Cost $113.00. Includes: R/T transportation, Mission Inn Champagne Brunch, loaf of fresh baked bread, and shopping time in Mt. Dora. Motor coach will depart the Kohl’s parking lot located at 13760 Old St. Augustine Road at 8am. |
Other Events this MonthTravel - February 7 - Travel with us to Cooper's Hawk, (St. John's Town Center), 4850 Big Island Drive, for an 8-wine tasting, followed by lunch in their restaurant. You will have your choice of red and white wine ranging from sweet to dry. We will carpool from the Hobby Lobby parking lot; meeting at 10:15am and leaving promptly by 10:30am. Wine Tasting 11:00am, lunch 12:15pm. Cost for the wine tasting is $8.00 (plus tip) and the carpool fee is $5.00 cash to your driver or meet us there. Lunch is separate at your expense. Dining Out - February 8 - Caddyshack, World Golf Village, 6:30pm, 455 S. Legacy Trail #106, St. Augustine 32092. Per the hostess: “If you get there early, have a drink in the bar. It should be fun for the husbands as so often we go to places we women like. The food has been good on the occasions I ate there.” Movie Mania - February 11 - “Judy” 1:00pm Harbor Chase (3rd floor theatre). Lunch at Dolce’s Pizza located in the same parking lot as Harbor Chase, 11:30am. Come and see Renee Zellweger as she portrays Judy Garland. Recipe Exchange - February 12 - Gearing up for the first recipe exchange of 2020!! 11:30am - 2:00pm at the home of Mary Ethel Hinchliffe. “Love Bites” is our theme. Please remember only the hostess makes desserts. To RSVP contact Mary Ethel. Cost is $2.00. Bring a copy of your recipe and a container for leftovers. Antiquing - February 14 - Brenda Keith and Chris Inman are hostessing the trip to St. Augustine. Leaving Kohl’s at 9:30am, we will visit several shops on San Marco Avenue, plus Out There Antiques on US 1. Lunch may be at the Kings Head Pub on US 1. If you did not sign up at the luncheon contact Brenda or Chris. Mah Jongg – February 17 - 12:30pm - Hibiscus Building (Building H) at Westminster Woods. On the right immediately inside the gates. Parking is very limited, so carpooling is necessary. Contact Ann Dumire who will email players monthly to set up carpools from Fresh Market. Bridge - February 18 - 9:45am at the Ramada Inn, 3130 Hartley Road. The cost is $17.50 cash, and buffet lunch is included. If you have any questions, or would like to join the sub list, please call Hannah Stefanides. Marathon Bridge - February 25 - 10am at the Ramada Inn, 3130 Hartley Road. The cost is $17 cash for a buffet lunch and a regular member fee of $10 to play for the season. If you are interested in playing as a sub or regular member, please call Mary Chapman. Night Train - February 28 - Singles and Couples. 6:30pm River Lounge at Westminster Woods. Park in any spot to the left of the flagpole in front of the building. There is no host, so please bring snacks to share and your own beverages. We play with quarters, so please come prepared with $3.25 in quarters.
