Consider bringing a bottle of wine, a dessert (ingredients listed on an index card), a holiday serving dish or bowl, a box of chocolates, a set of lotions, or a holiday cactus. You decide! Just remember to make it festive! No used items, please! Auction tickets will be sold during our social time and cost just $10 for 25 chances. Thank you for your support! We look forward to seeing you in December! Come join in the fun and share the holiday spirit with friends! |
Other Events this MonthTravel – December 1 – will visit The Cummer Museum, located at 829 Riverside Ave. We will meet in the Hobby Lobby parking Lot to carpool, departing at 10:15am. At 11:00am, we will have a Guided Tour of the Visiting Exhibition: BIJOUX PARISIENS: FRENCH JEWELRY FROM THE PETIT PALAIS, PARIS. An overview of the intriguing intersection where French history, art, and fashion meet. This Exhibition is only on display at The Cummer for a short time. Our lunch will be at The Café at the Museum. The Café has given us a specific menu to order from. A copy of the Menu will be at the next Luncheon, or I can email anyone who wants to look it over. All of this trip will be provided by The Cummer Museum for a one time charge of $25 per person, (including lunch). If you wish to order a specialty coffee, or from their wine or beer list (or Shandy, Mimosa or Bloody Mary), you will pay extra for those drinks. Please sign up at the November luncheon or contact your hostess, Ann Blodgett. Pay by check made out to Ann Blodgett at the luncheon or mail to Ann. Payment of $25 must be received no later than November 30.
Antiques – December 8 – we’ll travel to always popular New Smyrna Beach. This is always a fun trip. Coronado’s and Jeff’s are really good places for antiquing, and then we’ll head over to Canal Street for cute shops and lunch at Corkscrew Bar and Grill (no, not what it sounds like! Good food). We will meet at Hobby Lobby at 8:30am. Rider’s share is $9, cash to your driver. Sign up at the meeting, indicating if you’ll drive, or contact Nancy Crowley. . Movie Mania – December 12 -- will be at the Regal Theater. Sign-up sheets will be at the luncheon. Please be sure to include your email or phone number so that Toby can let you know the movie and show time. Suggestions are welcome! Any questions or suggestions, please contact Toby Richmond. Recipe Exchange – December 13 -- will be hosted at 11:30am at the home of Linda Peacock. Topic is “Soups and Stews”. We will meet at 11:15am in the parking lot of Beall’s Outlet on San Jose Boulevard to carpool. Park in the area closest to the bank. Linda will provide drinks and dessert. Cost is $2.00. Bring your recipe to share and a container to take home leftovers. Please sign up at the luncheon or contact Linda. Manatees and Pancakes Social – January 13, 2018 – we will travel by motor coach to Blue Springs State Park, the winter home of the Florida manatee. Stroll along the boardwalk while spending some time with these gentle fresh water creatures. Visit the gift shop before we continue on to DeLeon Springs State Park where we’ll brunch at the Old Spanish Sugar Mill restaurant. If you haven’t cooked pancakes on your table, don’t miss it! Each table has its own built-in grill, and you’ll have two types of pancake batter to pour, cook, and eat. There are syrups provided, and butter, and you can purchase sides. After our meal, we’ll board a sightseeing boat and travel down the river seeing Florida woods in the winter, and hopefully catching sight of gators, birds, and other small creatures that might be out. This is a “True Florida Experience!”. Cost is $90 per person, check made to Becky Hall to be received no later than December 18, before the Luncheon. If you have any questions about cancellation penalties or anything else, call Becky or Barbara Petty. |
