Ramada Inn NOTE TIME CHANGE Doors open at 9:00am for check-in/social time. Games begin at 9:30am. Meeting will follow at 11:45am (Please do not arrive any earlier as the room will not be ready for seating) LUNCHEON COST: $17. Contact Geri Marchiafava at 993-7649 for reservations. Checks must be received by April 19th. There will be no exceptions. MENU House Salad Chicken Piccata Roasted Seasonal Vegetables Wild Rice Lemon Bars Rolls and Butter Coffee, Tea and Water Chef’s Salad is offered as an alternative to the menu. Guests should be advised of this option. If the salad is desired, it must be noted on the reservation check. No changes can be made after reservation deadline. NOTE: Salad dressings available are Italian, Light Italian, or Ranch only. PROGRAM Our program for April 26 is “Game Day”. Your choices that day are Bunco or Mexican Train. You must choose one. Other Events this MonthTravel – April 6 - We will head to St. Augustine for an 11:30am lunch at Gypsy Cab Co. Gypsy Cab is lively with an artsy atmosphere and an eclectic menu. After lunch, we’ll cross the road to wander through the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. This is a walking venue, so bear that in mind. Admission to the park is $18.19, to be collected that morning. Parking is free. We will meet at Kohl’s parking lot at 10:30am, and rider’s fee is $7 cash to your driver. Sign up at the luncheon, indicating if you will drive, or contact Alice Soberay to sign up or with questions.
Movie Mania – April 10 – Hostess of the month will pick the movie, and an email will be sent out with meeting time, and the name and time of the movie. Please sign up at the luncheon or contact Toby Richmond. Recipe Exchange – April 11 – We will be at the home of Diane Frisco at 11:30am. The theme is “Bacon”. Diane will provide drinks and dessert. Cost is $2.00. Please bring your recipe to share and a container to take home leftovers. Please sign up at the luncheon or contact Diane. Antiques - April 13 – This month we will be traveling to Fernandina Beach. Our adventure will begin at A1A Antiques at 463146 St. Rd. 200 in Yulee. Then we will move on to the Eight Flags Antique Market at 602 Centre St. and then to the Christmas Shop on the River which is at 202. Lunch will be at Café Karibo, 27 N 3rd St. at 12:15pm. We will leave from the Hobby Lobby parking lot promptly at 9am. Rider’s share is $9 cash to your driver. Dining Out – April 14 – We will be at Casa Maria Mexican Restaurant at 6:30pm at 14965 Old St. Augustine Rd. The website is casamariajax.com and phone is 619-8186. Dining out is open to couples and singles. In February, we had three couples and 10 singles. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the food. Casa Maria has a varied menu with chicken, beef, pork, and seafood dishes. The food is mild, but one can spice it up with the house sauce. 2 for 1 House Margaritas! Hope to see you there. Sign up at the luncheon or contact Judy Witte. Picnic Social – April 21 – will be held at 11:30am at Losco Regional Park at 10931 Hood Rd. S. We will have our marvelous barbecue lunch at 12 noon. Seating is limited, so please bring your folding chairs if possible. This is an adult event, but no alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park. Your spouse or one adult guest is welcome. Our picnic is free of charge, but you must sign up with your name and that of your spouse or adult guest. We will liven the occasion with games with prizes, but you’re welcome to just sit and enjoy the company of fellow club members! Parking is very close to our covered pavilion, and the park is very pleasant for strolling. Join us for a great kickoff to summer! Sign up at the luncheon or contact Barbara Petty. ADVANCE NOTICE OF MAY 4 TRAVEL TRIP Travel – May 4 – we will return to the Stetson Mansion for the Grand Tour of all 3 floors of this beautiful, historic mansion. Originally built in 1886 and owned by John B. Stetson, the famous hat maker, it was his family’s retreat and guests included President Cleveland, the King and Queen of England, and Henry Flagler. Lunch will be at a local Deland restaurant either before or after the tour. Cost is $31.95, and must be paid no later than April 6, plus a $3 tip to be paid in cash on the day of the tour. Rider’s share is $11, cash to your driver. Due to the early booking requirement for groups, a preliminary count is necessary in order to reserve a tour time.
