Doors open at 10:15am for check-in/social time.
(Please do not arrive any earlier as the room will not be ready for seating). LUNCHEON COST: $25. All attendees must send their checks to Barbara Metallo to confirm their reservation. Make your check payable to MANDARIN WOMEN’S CLUB and contact Jo-Ellen Baxley (this month only) at 904-635-8722 for further information or mailing instructions. Checks must be received by April 14th. There will be no exceptions. Be sure to note on your check if you prefer a Chef’s Salad. MENU Caesar Salad Chicken Marsala with Gravy Broccoli Coconut Cream Pie Rolls & Butter Coffee, Ice Tea and Water Chef’s Salad is offered as an alternative to the menu. If the salad is desired, it must be noted on the reservation email or check. No changes can be made after reservation deadline. NOTE: Salad dressings available are Italian, Light Italian, or Ranch only. PROGRAM SPRING FASHION SHOW (Fashion Show begins at 10:45am) Mandarin Women’s Club is cruising into spring with our Annual Spring Fashion Show. This year the clothes will be provided by The Petunia Patch, www.petuniapatchonline.com, and will be modeled by your friends in the club. Come and join us for a delicious lunch and cheer on our beautiful models. UPCOMING SOCIALS A bus trip to Howey-in-the-Hills to Mission Inn Resort for a special Champagne Brunch then on to Clermont and the Lakeridge Winery for an afternoon of music, wine, and shopping. Guests are welcome. You may bring a lawn chair if the weather is nice. Cost $139 (Includes Transportation, Champagne Brunch, Music at the Vineyard, Wine Tasting, Gratuities). To those going on the Bus trip meet at Hobby Lobby on Old St Augustine at 8am. You may bring a lawn chair with you to use at the Winery while listening to the music. Other EventsMovie Mania: April 8 - . Come join us for “The Green Mile”. Running Time: 3hr, 8 min. Long movie but well worth the time! Miracles happen in unexpected places, even in the death-row cell block at Cold Mountain Penitentiary. There John Coffey, a gentle giant of a prisoner with supernatural powers, brings a sense of spirit and humanity to his guards and fellow inmates. Stars Tom Hanks. NO LUNCH. Movie will be at HarborChase theatre, 3rd Floor at 1:00pm. following the movie. Due to the length of “The Green Mile”, we are skipping lunch and are going to dinner at Don Juan’s. Recipe Exchange: April 9 – 11:30am. Got a favorite salad recipe and/or do you enjoy salads? Or just enjoy company over food? Come and bring your favorite salad to share with others at the home of Jo-Ellen Baxley. Dessert and drinks provided by the host. If you did not sign up at the March luncheon, contact Jo-Ellen regarding availability. Travel: April 11 - Sally Corporation. Sally is one of the oldest and largest designers and fabricators of animatronic (robotic) entertainment in the world. Meet at Hobby Lobby at 10am; leave at 10:30am. Rider’s fee is $6 dollars. Restaurant to be determined. If you didn’t sign up at the March luncheon or have questions, contact Shirley Wright. Mah Jongg currently has two teams on two different dates. Anyone who would like to sub for either team, please contact Mary Kay Weis for Team A or Sarah Sallas-Herring for Team B. Team A: April 21, 12:30pm Team B: April 28, 12:30pm* *Team B Mah Jongg plays on the 4th Monday of every month at 12:30 PM at members’ homes. If you are interested in joining and are an experienced Mah Jongg player, you will be placed on a sub list and will be selected by priority according to your MWC enrollment date. Contact Sarah Sallas-Herring if interested. Lunch Bunch: March 21 –11:30 am. We will be going to Mellow Mushroom Pizza Restaurant, 295 Durbin Pavilion Drive. Come join us for fellowship and good eating. If you have any questions, contact Linda Bowman. Marathon Bridge: April 22 - 4th Tuesday each month thru May at 11am at Noura's Cafe. Please call or text Mary Chapman if you would like to sub or want more information. Continental Rummy: April 23 – 10:00am. We will meet at the Burger Barn, 475 Durbin Pavilion Drive., Suite 103, St. Johns, FL 32259. This is in the Durbin Pavilion on Race Track Road (the newer shopping center). Burger Barn is near the movie theater. The game is easy to learn, played as an individual (not pairs) tables of 3-6. There is both luck of the cards and some strategy involved. Night Train: April 25 – 6:30pm – We play at HarborChase. Mark your calendar for the last Friday of each month. This is Mexican Train, and we are happy to teach beginners. Park in the back and check-in at the front desk. We play with quarters, so please come prepared with $3.25 in quarters. Bring your own non-alcoholic drink and snacks.
